At the end of last year, we were ridiculously excited to be able to send the mini-Mike-from-Ghosts to the actor who plays him in the TV show. We had instantly packaged him carefully and excitedly dropped him in the mail in the first week of January…( Great start to the year! )
While Omicron ravaged its way through the country, we did our best to get our summer holidays on. La Nina was playing funny-buggers with the weather, which was just an opportunity to enjoy time by the beach when it is not nice to be on the beach. ( Buckle in! )
Is it going to get to the point where we don’t remember what it’s like to go out and about in August? Or are we going to come to simply expect that we spend most of term three working from home and get cross when we have to physically go to work for like, eleven weeks in a row? ( Bring on the Stockholm syndrome! )
No matter how dark or cold or long Term 2 is, at least this year we could be continually glad that it was not (completely) the same as 2020! ( We will always be grateful )
In the second week of Term 4, those of us in regional Victoria were finally allowed back to into schools to discover how feral kids go when everything is hard and nothing means anything ( #How did we somehow skip from March directly to December?? )
To the surprise of no one, the Rona came back again and put us all in Victoria back into lockdown and remote learning. At least we’re not in Melbourne, so it was less harsh this time, but still, ungh.
You need 10 ants (tenants!). The ants around our place better start looking out for their landlords, because the biggest news of this term has been ten years in the making. ( What have we been waiting for? )
This year’s school trip kicked off with a 3:15am meeting at the Gull Bus… well, for most of us, anyway. For Pak Rossaksa it was a nice sleep in while we all waited in the cold and a kid called Manja wept. ( Might as well begin the trip as you plan to continue )
What sort of things did Stinky and Pye find to be shiny and/or interesting as Term Two came around on the merry-go-round again? Will they tend towards being similar to last time or will they be ground-breaking and new? ( PLACE BETS NOW )
