Kornelius had been so efficient at showing us around Tana Toraja we now had the luxury to check out some smaller ticket items.
It doesn’t get much smaller than a bunch of five year olds )

Visiting Tana Toraja was our main goal of coming to Sulawesi, and it did not disappoint. If anything, it delivered a bit too enthusiastically )

Now it was our turn to go to Bira, only not on bikes because that sounds stupid and uncomfortable. We are perfectly capable of being stupid in our own way, thank you very much. )

Once upon a time, Stinky decided that we should totally go to Sulawesi. D’admiral and Chuckles thought that sounded like a pretty good idea, so before you could say “Remember we used to do this all the time before COVID” we were off to Indonesia in the Term One holidays.
This one’s just for us, no students allowed )

School returned as it always seems to do no matter how much we dislike the habit, but at least Term One gives us a fresh batch of Year 7 names to laugh at. if you’re not laughing at 12-year-olds, you’re not really living )

Who’s ready for genuinely exciting adventures? look away now if you think you can’t handle the power )

After no trips since 2019, it was time for Stinky to get back to her school’s sister school and associated adventures therewith associated. But travelling at the same time as Pye’s school chucked up some huge questions Like - who gets custody of Moose? )

In 2014, after years of not being allowed to take students to Indonesia, Pye made a triumphant return with a pan-Java adventure. Flash forward to 2024, after years of not being able to go anywhere, she did the same again – with exactly the same staff no less! gather up those kids and get going! )

One day Pye was heading down to her Year 8 class when a chicken walked past going in the opposite direction. This isn't too far from usual in Drysdale, but this one gave her an unusually smug look. Thinking no more of it, Pye got to the classroom to find that the Year 8s were losing their tiny minds because when they'd walked in, there had been two chooks in their classroom, calmly checking the place out (while shitting all over the place). There's not even an external door, these bitches made a special effort to come in and raise the general standard of behaviour for the class! This set the tone for the rest of the term.

Might as well start the way we plan to continue... )

It’s been about 10 weeks, is our favourite hobby still watching grass grow? OF COURSE IT IS, HAVE YOU MET US? )

It rained for years (or at least half of January)!

But we still managed to mostly have fun. We got back from Adelaide and celebrated New Year’s, what should we all do next? Get COVID? OKAY )

Now that everything’s back to normal, what bright spots are there to look forward to in the winter term? certainly not a degree of resilience from school children but let’s not expect the unreasonable )

Everyone was very excited to go back to school in Term Two looking all stylish from our recent Indonesian adventures... Style, baby! )

We have long known that exploring a place and its artistic and cultural specialities makes our wallets, as tourists, grow very swollen and painful, and therefore we need careful milking at the right times – this is perfectly fine with us when we enjoy the process. What are those rascals up to this time? )

Having first attempted to take D’admiral and Chuckles and go visit Lombok in April 2020, we were finally ready to get it right this time. What’s the universe going to do, go way out of its way to stop us? )

2023 has finally seen the return of going places and doing things and making plans that you might just get to keep! This seems weird… )
